No April Fool's, I'm actually back. You will always see way more of me on tumblr, though. And all my art goes to this art-only tumblr, if you only want to see my art and not some ridiculous reblogs.
So, what's been up with me? A lot! Char and I rewrote The Peacock King as a novel and we're publishing it in June. You might remember The Peacock King from all this art. We have new art now, and it is awesome, and you can see it over here at the Kickstarter for the novel, where you can preorder a copy as well as get amazing swag, from bookmarks to posters to an actual fully-illustrated card deck from the story! The image below is available as a print at certain reward levels!
Please check it out and tell literally every person you know.
As for me being back, is that permanent? Am I going to stick around a bunch? Well... dA still has autoplay video ads, so I probably will not stick around super-regularly, but I do want to update my galleries with some new art I've been making. Today I saw someone had shared one of my really old Slayers fanarts onto tumblr, and I was like augh, i should post new stuff.
Also I really miss the people I used to hang out with here. Some of you I hang out with in other places now, but some of you I haven't intersected with again! Please follow me on twitter or tumblr if you're on either of those!

Not Updating Here Anymore (Update: Tumblr)
(EDIT/UPDATE: I have a tumblr for my art now. Updates get tweeted automatically, so if you follow me on twitter already then you're good. If not:

Already put some new stuff up. )
I don't have the at home net speed to support deviantArt's auto-play video ads, and I don't feel like foisting them on my watchers who don't feel the need to be subscribers just to eliminate the kind of advertising that every other social network I'm on seems to feel is inappropriate and excessive.
DeviantArt turned into a vehicle for advertising with a wrapper around it that made it look like a portfolio and art site. I'm not sure whe
Taking Design Commissions
Right now I'm doing a lot of design for literature sites and for books. Logos, internet ads, promotional bookmarks, book covers, you name it. I also do illustration (often in partnership with ~Karis-Surya (https://www.deviantart.com/karis-surya)). I'll be posting more designs I've done recently over the next few days. I'll also have rates up soon.
I can design for anything, truth be told, but since I'm in the online writing community most of my clientèle are as well. So that'll comprise the bulk of my examples. When I design, I also offer advice on how to best display your brand and what sort of copy would be suitable for each use. My intent is to help establish a s
Stayin for now
I'm pretty much still here to watch the artists I like. I'll still update for my watchers, but it's hard to feel enthusiastic about it - dA's just too much of a pain to manage most days, other than clearing my deviantWatch.
Considering Quitting DeviantArt
I know I'm approaching 50,000 pageviews but I'm getting sick of the interstitial ads and popups and reminders and sneaky hints at people viewing my page for me to get a subscription to DeviantArt. I'm sorry but a subscription just isn't worth it for me and nagging me will just make me want to use the site less and post less art to it - therefore serving fewer ads to more awaiting eyeballs. I'm serious, here - I do not need DeviantArt. I have my own site and I'm primarily a writer. I only post here for the people here who watch me and want to see my art. They are the only reason I'm even considering sticking around.
